Abstract:
One of the key strengths of P|M technology is its ability to produce near-net-shape components with tight tolerances. In order to maintain the P|M industry’s technological leadership in the global competitive environment of the automotive industry, the latest manufacturing technologies in powder pressing and powder selection should be applied. This joint study analyzes the potential of the latest energy-efficient high precision press technology combined with high-performance, environmentally friendly mix technology. A multi-level part serves as a demonstrator to highlight the findings in terms of improved tolerances and increased productivity while conserving resources in terms of energy and raw materials.
